The 21-year-old Miss Diva Universe Harnaaz from Punjab, representing India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, Israel, brought home the crown, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000 and 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu crowned Miss Universe 2021.
Harnaaz Sandhu is an avid pet lover and has a furry friend named Roger. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Administration.
She edged out contestants Paraguay and South Africa to claim the crown.

Harnaaz Sandhu crowned Miss Universe 2021
Harnaaz said, “The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing, is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things that are happening worldwide. Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own. I believed in myself and that is why I am standing here today.”
Harnaaz, who started modeling at a young age, gradually made her way to beauty pageants and won her first pageant — Miss Chandigarh 2017.
As per her Miss Universe delegate bio, Harnaaz, a Punjabi, draws inspiration from her mother, who “broke generations of patriarchy to become a successful gynecologist and led her family”.
